Shakespeare and The Sea

I presented an academic paper on the extraordinary life and times of my maternal ancestor, the Elizabethan writer, historian, diplomat and castaway, William Strachey at The Royal Maritime Museum in Greenwich. This formed part of a 2 day (hybrid) conference in September 2023.

William’s first hand eye witness account off the coast of Bermuda inspired Shakespeare to write ‘The Tempest’.
