Talk will discuss Sir William Cope, PC (cofferer to Henry VII & Keeper of Portchester Castle), Sir Anthony Cope (Principal Chamberlain to Queen Catherine Parr), Sir Anthony Cope, MP (puritan backbencher who challenged Elizabeth I and was imprisoned in the Tower of London), Sir Walter Cope, MP (Keeper of Hyde Park, MP for Westminster, servant to Lord Burghley), and Henry Rich, Earl of Holland.
Talk presented on Erasmus Krykenar, Master Armourer to Henry VIII (maternal ancestor). Formed part of the 600th anniversary of The Guildhall Library.

Participant in two day conference to coincide with the 600th anniversary of Shakespeare’s first folio.
Represented The University of Oxford.
Participated in a two-day conference ‘Shakespeare and The Sea’ to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s first folio. I discussed William Strachey and his role as an academic, poet, writer, shipwreck survivor and government official of Virginia. His experiences inspired Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
